Rafe Khatchadorian (Griffin Gluck), ktorý má záľubu v umení a má neuveriteľnú fantáziu, prestupuje do druhého ročníka strednej školy Hills Village po vyhodení z predchádzajúcej školy. Hneď prvý deň sa stretáva s mimoriadne prísnym a upätým riaditeľom Kenom Dwightom (Andy Daly) a jeho servilnou zástupkyňou Idou Strickerovou (Retta). Dwight vedie školu despoticky a núti študentov, aby dodržiavali rozsiahly zoznam pravidiel, ktoré sú väčšinou úplne nezmyselné. Neskôr toho dňa je Dwightova prednáška prerušená, keď iný študent schytí Rafeho skicár, do ktorého riaditeľa zosmiešňujúco nakreslil ako zombie. Dwight reaguje zničením skicára, ktorý bol plný Rafeho kresieb. Zdesený Rafe a jeho najlepší kamarát Leo (Thomas Barbusca) sa mu rozhodnú odplatiť tým, že začnú porušovať jedno jeho pravidlo za druhým…
