Svérázná britská komedie vypráví o trablech manželů Matthewa (Mike Binder) a Lindy (Janeane Garofalo) Barnesových, kteří se z rodného Chicaga musí kvůli Matthewově práci přestěhovat do Londýna. Ve městě se však nevyznají a nevědí, na koho se obrátit. Navíc je tu jistý pan Gissing (Alan Rickman), Mattův anglický kolega, který se jim vytrvale snaží celou situaci ještě znepříjemnit. Proč? Z toho nejprostšího důvodu. Američan má totiž v Londýně nastoupit na jeho místo. Vše se ovšem zkomplikuje, když se manželé začnou bránit a když oběma kolegům začne náhle v práci jít o krk. Okolnosti je přinutí se spojit společně vytvořit bizarní plán.
